Person Denies Claim After Caught Impersonating Police Officer At Lynn Walmart

Lynn Police are investigating after receiving a report of a suspicious person who was allegedly caught impersonating a police officer at a store this week.

Police responded for a report of a suspicious party saying they were an officer at the Walmart on Lynnway around 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, Lt. Rick Connick told Daily Voice.

Upon arrival, employees told officers that someone was asking to access video surveillance while claiming to be a law enforcement officer, Connick added.

Officers made contact with the individual, who later denied that they were trying to impersonate an officer. After an investigation the matter was referred to Lynn District Court.
